Where an organisation’s risk assessment of first aid identifies a need for an Emergency First Aid at Work representative, this qualification satisfies the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE)
Duration:
6 Hours contact time consisting of theory and practical sessions.
Syllabus:
* Responsibilities and Reporting * Assessment of the situation * Resuscitation * Dealing with an unresponsive casualty * Basic hygiene in first aid * Anatomy * Minor Injuries * Bleeding Control * Burns * Choking * Epilepsy * Shock
Certification:
An ongoing assessment will be conducted throughout the course, and a multiple choice test paper will be issued to confirm the delegate has met the required standard. Providing the delegate passes both the theory and practical elements they will be awarded a nationally approved certificate valid for 3 years. The HSE strongly recommend that all learners attend a 3 hour refresher in the middle of the 3 year period.
